I was born and raised in Port Austin, Michigan. I grew up and worked on a dairy farm as a child and young adult, so I'm an expert at milking cows and stacking bales of hay. I graduated from North Huron High School in Kinde, Michigan, and then from Michigan State University. I taught math and speech for 14 years at several high schools in Michigan before being hired by MAPS in 2007. I've also coached track, cross-country, and forensics at most of those schools, and I'm currently coaching those activities here at MHS. My wife Julia and I have 4 children: Cameron, Callahan, Cavanaugh, and Connolly (Tugboat). My hobbies and interests include distance running - including marathons, watching movies, church choir singing, and I'm a master at pop culture trivia.
