Kate Thomson Ms. Thomson currently is teaching Biology, Basic Human Anatomy and Michigan Zoology at MHS.  She has just returned to MHS for our 2007-2008 school year after taking a 4 year hiatus from the classroom to be at home with her young children, Solana and Cecilia.  Prior to her Manistee experiences, Ms. Thomson taught Biology at Greenville High School in Greenville, Mississippi.

Ms. Thomson first attended The Ohio State University, where she spent most of her time cracking up her shins playing field hockey.  When ready to devote her time to purely academic pursuits, she attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Botany, and later attended The University of Mississippi, in Oxford, Mississippi, where she earned a master's in Curriculum and Instruction.  Between degrees, Ms. Thomson served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Honduras, where she married the infamous Mr. Postma.

Ms. Thomson enjoys riding her bike, cross-county skiing, running, reading, playing with her children and harvesting and eating all of the delicious things Mr. Postma grows in their garden.
